| EMAS (Eco Management and Audit Scheme)
EMAS is the abbreviation of Eco Management and Audit Scheme, also known as EU Eco Audit or Eco Audit. EMAS was developed by the European Union and is a community system comprising environmental management and environmental auditing for organisations which want to improve their environmental performance. The EMAS directive (eco audit directive) strongly emphasises the economy's responsibility for alleviating its direct and indirect effects on the environment. In 1998, one of the companies in the Evers-Frank group presented its ecological aims and achievements to the public for the first time. Voluntary participation in directive (EEU) 1836/93 firstly promotes the company's activities and secondly integrates both personnel and suppliers into all processes. The business-oriented environmental management system EMAS is an expression of our responsible activity. Validated by an independent assessor, these environmental checks and our regular public environmental declarations document our responsibility for environmental protection for authorities, the public and all personnel.
